The International Halal Economic Conference (IHEC) 2026, spearheaded by World Islamic Economic Development (WIED), is positioning itself as a high-impact economic catalyst, with a projected RM500 million in investment value and trade opportunities.
According to Chief Executive Officer, Abdul Rani Osman, the conference will be held from 3 to 5 February at Hotel Tenera & Suites. IHEC 2026 is expected to convene over 300 delegates from 18 countries, creating a robust platform for international engagement and deal-making.
Positioned as a convergence point for policymakers, regulators, and industry leaders, the conference will draw participation from ASEAN, the Organisation of Islamic Cooperation (OIC), the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC), Europe, and emerging halal markets. This strategic alignment is designed to accelerate policy harmonisation, market access, and cross-border investment flows.
Key sectors driving the conference agenda include food and beverage, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, halal logistics, digital technology, and sustainability-led industries. These focus areas reflect a deliberate shift towards high-growth, innovation-driven segments within the global halal economy.
Importantly, the RM500 million target extends beyond immediate transactions during the event. It is structured as a long-tail value creation strategy, enabling sustained partnerships, scalable business ventures, and continuous trade pipelines post-conference.
Patron and Chairman of the Organising Committee, Yusof Md Noor, underscored that IHEC 2026 will further reinforce Malaysia’s positioning as a global halal hub. The conference will spotlight the nation’s strengths in certification integrity, regulatory excellence, and international collaboration frameworks, while elevating halal as a comprehensive economic and ethical ecosystem.
IHEC 2026 continues to function as a strategic platform for investment acceleration, ecosystem integration, and long-term value creation, driving the next phase of growth across the global halal economy.
